Athletic Directors:
I wanted to follow up with each of you to make sure that you received the information sent a few weeks ago from Tim O’Malley with the WPIAL regarding the Hines Ward Positive Athlete program. We hope to find the “Most Positive High School Athlete” in each of the 25 different boys and girls sports. We have already received several great nominations.
Quick Highlights:
Student Athletes can be nominated by parents, coaches and/or school administrators. Schools can submit multiple nominations.
Ceremony will take place in April, 2012 at the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum covered by Channel 2. Hines and other Positive Athletes will be on hand to award the athletes.
A Quick Request: Positive Athlete is in the process of talking to local companies about sponsoring a Positive Athlete program in each of your schools. The sponsor would pay for 25 of the Positive Athlete t-shirts to be sent to your school to be rewarded to your student-athletes by their coaches. My request:
Are you okay with a company sponsoring your school’s program, and if so would you be willing to recognize them in some way.
Do you have some suggestions on companies that might be interested in helping make this happen for your school. If so, we would very much appreciate the contact information so that we can reach out to them.
Please feel free to email or call me anytime.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Everyone.

The lessons for our youngsters don’t end with the final bell of the day if they’re involved in co-curricular activities. In fact, the learning experience that comes from participation in drama, music, speech, athletics and the like, promote lifetime values that cannot always be learned in the classroom. More>
